Morning!

Had some time to do the Inspiration Challenge this morning. Seems that lately weekends are my only time to stamp!

The inspiration today came from the orange pillow found here at Pottery Barn Teen. How much to do I love every last thing at Pottery Barn?!

I used the set Branching Out for the tree image and Special Delivery for the sentiment (both from There She Goes). The sentiment is stamped in Versamark then embossed with white embossing powder to get it to stand out more. The tree was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and covered with a two way glue pen. I then sprinkled my beloved brown Martha Stewart glitter over it to get it to pop. So sparkley! The Pumpkin Pie layer is adhered to a 4.25" square card base and finished off with a satin ribbon from Michael's.

I just want to say a big thanks to those of you who continue to stop by and visit me :) Your comments are so welcomed and give me a big ol' warm fuzzy!!! Amanda, regarding your question from the Valentine card, yes, I did use the Polka Dot background stamp. So sorry I didn't mention that!

Thanks for stopping by today friends :) Hope the rest of your day is great!

Good morning!

I had a chance to do the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast this morning. Here is the towel I was inspired by. I often start an inspiration challenge by trying to see if any images remind my of any patterned paper designs. In this case, the pattern reminded me of the Summer Picnic designer paper from SU!. The colours and placement of flowers led me to select the orange and red dotted paper to work with.

I used the Fall to Layout #24 of Natasha's at Clean and Simple stamping paired with Special Delivery from There She Goes. Once I selected my colours (Only Orange and Real Red), I embossed the sentiment using white craft ink and white embossing powder. I find the ink alone doesn't stand out as much as I'd like. The heart was stamped with Real Red ink onto Real Red cardstock, cut and and covered with two way glue. I then sprinkled Martha glitter over it to give it some sparkle. The entire panel is raised on dimensionals as is the heart once again to make it stand out. The circle was punched with a 1 3/8" punch in case you are interested :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today! Hope the rest of your day is great :)

Here's a card I uploaded to my gallery on the weekend.

I loved the colours in the photo for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS this past weekend. I used Really Rust, So Saffron and Close to Cocoa. I liked the layout from Beate's sketch challenge so much I decided to use it again. It's a great LO to use with these smaller stamps from Pocket Silhouettes. I stamped the flower image along the card base using Really Rust ink. I then adhered a So Saffron piece, stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip and tied the big SU! ribbon around.

The main image was stamped on Whisper White in Chocolate Chip ink and matted with matching card stock. Th entire main image is adhered using dimensionals.

I haven't had time to stamp this week! So sad. I am just so exhausted each day when I get home! All of my kindergarten students have started full time this week so my days have been long and very tiring. All I want to do when I get home is flake out on the couch! I know it will get easier once they are all used to our routines.

We also had to replace our fridge this week. Ours stopped being cold. Well, only about the bottom third was keeping cold when it was cranked to 10. I wasn't happy about laying out the cash for a new one, but in all honesty, I hated that old fridge and was glad to see it go! The past few nights have been getting it up and going and organizing. I *heart* my new fridge! No more fridge envy for me!

Fingers crossed that I have my There She Goes package and can stamp some stuff to show off using those sets this weekend!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today. Hope the rest of your day is great :)

It sure has been a long week! I have been so tired coming home in the evenings that I just haven't had it in me to stamp anything. Today I had a chance to do the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast.

This first card is based on the colours found in this photo by Catherine Ledner. I used the Eastern Blooms set and stamped the branch stamp randomly in Pacific Point ink to make a patterned paper on Pacific Point cardstock. The sentiment from the SU! hostess set best Yet was stamped in Tangerine Tango and a flower from easter Blooms was stamped beside it in Pacific Point. A silver brad is attached in the center of the single flower. It's finished off with a Tangerine Tango ribbon.

This second card is also inspired by a photo by the Catherins Ledner but this time a penguin one that can be seen here. I liked the idea of combining the stripes with shades of grey. I used Basic Grey for the ink and Going Grey is the paper bottom paper colour. I used the Best Yet set again for the sentiment and the Classic Stripes background stamp for the striped top portion. A Tangerine Tango ribbon is tied around the card front to pick up the colour of the penguins beak. Three rhinestone brads from the Su! Pretties kit finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We had a busy day today. We went to the Farmer's Market and picked up a bunch of fresh fruits and veggies, did a bunch of errands and shopping and finished off our day by roasing hot dogs and marshmallows in the new fire pit we picked up today. We've been talking about getting one all summer and finally did it. It was so nice to sit around the fire and talk. We always try to make sure we make time to do that and not be distracted by how hectic life can be, especially as the kids get older.

Hope the rest of your day is great!

So here's the room I used for the Inspiration Challenge. You can see the hotel here.

And here's the super simple card I created using the above room as inspiration. It may be the easiest card I've created yet!

Not much to say about this one really. I stamped the definition sentiment in Memories black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, added a piece of Purely Pomegranate cardstock and then tied a Pomegranate satin ribbon. Done!

I considered adding some other stuff to embellish, but the room is really clean so I kept the card the same.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! The weather is beautiful here so hopefully we can spend some time outside today. Hope the rest of your day is great!

I tried my hand at using these fantastic swimsuits for inspiration today-this one in particular. These suits were part of the Inspiration challenge posted over at SCS today. They are full of the new SU! in-colours!

When I looked at the suit, I first thought of the Baroque Motifs stamp set and wanted to stamp the flourish from there on the Baja Breeze cardstock. Of course, inked up they never would have shown up. I am pressed for time so wasn't in the mood to emboss. I then thought to use the Sizzix die that SU! will soon be selling called Swirls Scribbles.

First I made a Basic Grey card base and layered a small piece of Baja Breeze cardstock to the bottom. I cut a few of the shape out of Kiwi Kiss and Going Grey cardstock and layered them around where the two colours meet. I used my two way glue pen to adhere them. I found it works best to "dot" the glue along the shape instead of trying to run it along the shape. A Xyron would probably be handy for this. Too bad I sold mine!

I stamped the sentiment from Happiness Always (an SU! hostess set) in Basic Gray and then knotted a Regal Rose ribbon around the card front.

Not much stamping on this card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope the rest of your day is great.

OMGoodness, how cute are these bags from PinkLemonadeBags on Etsy? I used this bag here for inspiration to make my card.

Just yesterday this cute Simply Circles (SU! retired) set arrived in the mail from Kendra (thanks Kendra!) and I was looking forward to trying it out. When I saw the Inspiration Challenge bag above, I knew exactly what set I was going to use!

I used a wicked colour combo of River Rock, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip inspired from the bag. Great guy combo. I tried to stamp my circles on Baja paper as is the background on the bag fabric but it looked plain nasty so I switched to white. Much nicer. I contemplated using Chocolate Chip at the bottom on the bottom of the card but wasn't sure how I would add a sentiment on the dark paper so I used River Rock instead. Tied it up with some Chocolate Chip ribbon from SU! and it's done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope the rest of your day is great!

A card for today's inspiration challenge. I was inspired by the polka dots seen on the third cake photo seen here. Kinda reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream. That was a favourite of mine as a kid. We didn't have fancy ice creams around my house-vanilla or chocolate only-but it was a special day when mom brought home Neapolitan! Good times....

Had another chance to test drive some new SU! goodies. The scallop border punch is a must have! OMgoodness never having to use the corner rounder again...happy dance! And I love Pink Pirouette muchly. So pretty. Layout is Natasha Trupp's Fall to Layout #2 seen here . I used Papertrey Ink's Butterfly Kisses for the circles and the sentiment and stamped them in Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette, added the sentiment and SU! ribbon and called it done.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We are off to The Lucas Holtom
carnival day as we do every year at this time. This carnival celebrates life and the sharing of it with family and friends. It is named after a little boy who was tragically killed by a tornado in the summer of 2000. A wonderful book to check out The Gift of a Child: Spiritual Lessons from the Life of a Child

Have a great day and spend some time with someone you love today :)

Another Inspiration Challenge done!

This card's inspiration came from the last coaster you see on the right in this picture of Mackintosh enamel pieces. You can find the challenge here at Splitcoast Stampers.

The first go around, I tried embossing Best Blossoms on Glossy White with Summer Sun craft ink and clear EP, then brayering gold ink over it all. What a mess! Plan B was to emboss Best Blossoms (SU! retired) in Summer Sun craft ink onto brushed gold paper and embossing with clear EP. Much better turn out!

I fiddled about with the layout a bit until I found something I liked that would showcase the pattern nicely. I stamped the "Absolutely Fabulous" (click on the picture to see it up close) sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages in Summer Sun dye ink, punched with SU!'s oval punch and adhered with glue dots to the inside of this Hodgepodge knockoff frame that I don't know the maker of. SU! brads matched to I attached the frame to the card fron and finished off with an organdy ribbon from Pinkhedgehog Papercrafts. Other papers are Summer Sun and Very Vanilla from SU!.

It's a beautiful day here so I am off to spend the rest of the afternoon at the park and perhaps play some mini golf with the boys! Hope the rest of your day is great :)
