Dollar Find Friday

Hi friends!

For Dollar Find Friday this week I created a little something you can give to a special teacher. Long ago I saw this idea by camsmom on SCS. I filed it away in my brain somewhere and it surfaced when cruising the aisles of the dollar store. A ha! Perfect.

I typed the poem out in Word and adjusted the text so that it would fit in the blue Marvy circle punch. Once it was punched, I added the heart from the Happy Day stamp set and adhered the saying to a scallop circle (using the pink Marvy punch). I added an eyelet and attached it to the Sharpie with ribbon. The font I used is Primer Print in case you are interested. It's an awesome "school" font.
Here's a view of the back. I added the For You stamp from Special Delivery and figured you could add the recipient's name to the back. You could always change this up for school secretaries or teaching assistants.

Super quick and easy! This is a great little gift for a teacher since Sharpies (especially new ones) rock! And it's fat-free :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Dollar Find Friday Again!

Good morning!

Today is my day for Dollar Find Friday using There She Goes stamp sets. It's amazing what you can pick up at the Dollar store for just a buck! I found these cute glass jars 2/$1 and a small carton of Epsom Salt. That stuff can work wonders it seems! Check out some of the health benefits here.

There are oodles of recipes out there for homemade bath salts. I whipped one up by simply adding some red food colouring and packaged it up in the jars. . If I had some essential oils or something, I would have added them but epsom salt by itself is great in the bath. Tags and ribbons were added and I was done!

For this project I used the set Rejuvenate and stamped the images in Melon Mambo on Whisper White paper. I added some Melon Mambo card stock and ribbon and was finished in a snap! Much prettier than the carton I bought the salts in at the Dollarama!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day :)

It's Dollar FInd Friday Again!

Hi all!

My turn again for Dollar Find Friday. I've got a quick project for you today.

I was at the Dollarama and saw these mouse pads that can be personalised with a photograph.

Instead of using a photo, I decided to stamp up a piece of Whisper White and put that in. I used the set Flowers of Happiness and stamped the flowers and sentiment using Black Stazon. I then coloured them in with watercolour crayons in Apricot Appeal, Cameo Coral and Lavender Lace. An Aquapainter blended the colours easily. A black marker was used with the Colour Spritzer tool to add some black splatters. Covers up my colouring skills (or lack thereof) a bit!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day and start to the weekend!

Dollar Find Friday Card Tin

Happy Friday! Oh, how I love Friday......

Today I've got another Dollar Find Friday treat for you. If you are a new reader to my blog, basically Dollar Find Friday is where member of the There She Goes design team find stuff that costs a buck and transform it into something awesome!

My project today uses this Bart Simpson tin found at Dollarama.

I decided to transform it into a tin to hold little note cards. You could make this for anyone. I thought it might even work as a tin to hold love notes to send to your loved one :)

I cut white cardstock to fit the tin front and rounded the corners with a punch. The mailbox image and sentiment from Special Delivery are stamped in black Stazon. I added a sheet of red designer paper from SU! and rounded it off as well. A black ribbon from Michael's is tied to separate the two areas. A quick layer of colour was added to the mailbox image with a water colour brush (Real Red and Close to Cocoa). I went over the red again with a marker as I didn't think the red stood out enough. The cardstock is adhered to the front with a tape runner. It's stuck on there pretty good. I could have used some Modge Podge but didn't have the energy to drag it out and clean up those brushes.....

I then made some small 3x3 notecards out of white cardstock. The each have a 1x3" strip of matching red DP, a length of black rick rack (unknown) and a sentiment stamped in black ink.

Here's one of the cards close up.

This last picture is of the note cards and envelopes inside the tin tied up with ribbon and ready to give to some to lucky recipient! If I had some of those RSVP pens on hand, I would have made one to match and thrown it in too :)

Hope you like! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Tonight I am off to get my hair done (such a treat!) and follow it up with having my stamping friends over. Can't wait!

Dollar Find Friday Notebook

Hi all!

Well, my Dollar Find Friday time has rolled around again! Check out the computer notebook I made using
Crafty Taglines from There She Goes.

First off I purchased a notebook from Dollarama. I made sure to get one with a spiral binding. The cover for this measures 5x7 so I stamped a Kiwi Kiss piece of cardstock repeatedly in Kiwi ink with the computer stamp. I drew myself some light pencil guidelines to get the computers pretty straight. I tend to go off too high if I don't make myself some lines. I made a second piece for the back cover.

Once I had the cover completed, I used small binder clips to hold the papers together in the notebook while I carefully unwound the notebook binding.
I then used the original cover as a guide to punch holes in the new front and back covers. I lined them up and then carefully threaded the binding spiral back in.
I stamped the computer in Versamark on Kiwi Kiss paper and embossed in silver. It's matted with Vanilla paper. The sentiment is stamped on Vanilla in Chocolate Chip. To make the tabs, I used Vanilla paper and stapled them in. A Chocolate Chip marker was used to write the tab headings. As a final touch, the computer screen is coated in Crystal Effects.

I thought this little book would be super handy to keep next to your computer to jot down info while surfing. I totally need the password section! I can't for the life of me remember mine. Don't forget though, to store it somewhere away from your computer. Wouldn't want it to get into the wrong hands! Just a little public service announcement :)

Hope you like it! I had a ton of fun making it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great Friday!
