Unity Combo Challenge

Hey everybody!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted but we've been busy around here lately! My youngest son fell from the top of the ladder to my nephew's tree house on Sunday and broke his wrist. Thankfully, that's all the damage that seems to be done! He must have had an angel sitting on his shoulder as he fell from about 10 (eek!) feet, bumped his head and got some "ladder rash" on his back. The wrist should heal in about three weeks thankfully. No concussion or anything which was my biggest worry. So, we've been busy with appointments at the hospital and trying to keep him entertained. He's such a physical kid so it has been hard. I can't complain though, as things really could have been a lot worse and we are so thankful.

Anyways, I do have a card for you today. There was a Unity challenge today to create a project with "wings", and to create a card using no ribbon. No ribbon! That is a challenge for me.

The image and sentiment are from Unity's September KOTM and the backround is made using the Distressed Dots stamp. I was inspired by the colour combo of Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive in the SU! catalogue. Pretty straight forward stamping. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today. Have a great day!

Good morning!

I've been trying to participate in some of the challenges this week. I've got two cards for you today using the Clean and Simple challenge (a sketch). The first card also combines the colour challenge for this week at Splitcoast.

For the above card, I used some textured Pixie Pink for the card base. I love the little extra some textured card stock gives a clean and simple card. The images are from Unity's July KOTM and Bevy of Butterflies. I coloured the images on white card stock using and Aqua painter with Pixie Pink, Apricot Appeal and Certainly Celery inks.

This second card uses the new level 1 hostess set from SU! called Out of the Box. It's an SU only card.

I pulled the colours Bashful Blue, Kraft and Vanilla from the Manchester DSP. The box is stamped in Sahara Sand which is about the closest Kraft coloured ink I have. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The elephant and Vanilla/DP layer are on dimensionals. I thought this set would be so fun to use with dimensionals and it's well documented how much I love to use them ;) I'm thinking this second card might be a card camp card for next week.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today! Hope the rest of your day is wonderful and less rainy than it is here...

Here's a card for the Ways To Use It challenge at SCS today. The challenge is to use two of something on your card. I added two buttons for the cherries on this card that uses Unity's June KOTM.

Very quickly, I used the Rockabilly Specialty paper from SU! as well as Basic Black, Whisper White, Riding Hood red and Kiwi Kiss. The cherry stamp was paper pieced and then I added the two buttons with glue dots. The ribbon is also SU! The main image panel is raised using dimensionals over the black piece which I used the scalloped border punch on.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today! Hope your day is filled with sunshine like the one I'm enjoying today :)

Hi again!

Today is a Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge day. Here is the inspiration piece we are to use.

I definitely was inspired by the blue, brown and white colours in this print and also used the little house for my inspiration to create this card.

The stamps are by Unity Stamp Co and I think they are from the September KOTM. I inked the "friend" up again separately from the sentiment and stamped it near the top. Had to do that a few times as I was looking for a certain spacing that I just wasn't getting the first few times. Shoudl ahve used my Stamp-a-ma-jig the first time and saved myself the headache. The colours here are white, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze which coordinate really nicely with the Parisian Breeze specialty paper from SU!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today! Don't forget to check out what the other ladies have come up with for this challenge :)
