Happy Day

Oh, it certainly is a happy day! My stamps were waiting for me when I got home tonight :)

Here's the sneak peek card I managed to put together in the short time that I had before I had to get this post ready. I've got lots of ideas for this set, all I need is the time!

I used Cool Caribbean and Only Orange. It's an unusual combo for me, but I wanted something bright and summery. The ribbon is from Taylored Expressions and the flower brad is SU!. Main panel is, of course, on dimensionals.

Want a chance to win the new TSG set? Comment on all of the Trendsetter's Blogs on their Happy Day sneak peek post, go back to Jessica's and add your name to the Mister Linky. You do not have to have a blog to play along, you can also use the URL of your favorite online craft gallery!

Leave a comment here and then head over to Becky's blog to see what she's come up with.

Here are all the Trendsetters' blog links in case you get lost!

Missed Me? :)

If you got my first blank post, I am so sorry! LOL I hit return one too many times and poof! Off my unfinished post went into cyberspace...

So, missed me? :) Sorry I've been MIA but it's been another bust week here in the Jones household. My There She Goes stamps came early last week and I had two cards made up right away, but due to the messy room I know I've mentioned before, I could not find where I had put my Blessings set! Finally, this morning I was able to locate it (why, oh why did I think on top of a bookshelf was a good place???) and got busy.

Here's what I came up with.

This first card was made using the set Blessings. I stamped the knot image repeatedly tone on tone on Old Olive cardstock (didn't make any guidelines and I thought I'd be sorry but it really is a snap with the clear stamps!). I used markers to ink up the sentiment in Olive and Chocolate Chip and then punched the sentiment out with the Curly Label punch. It's adhered with dimensionals over the SU! stitched ribbon.

Next up is a card using the set Slow and Steady and Holidays Galore .

I used the Top Note die on this one. I can't seem to get enough of it and swear I would use it on every card if I could! The dragonfly was stamped repeatedly in Pixie Pink ink on the same colour paper and die cut. It's mounted with dimensionals onto a Papertrey white cardstock base. The Happy Birthday sentiment from Holidays Galore is stamped onto Whisper White paper, cut out and attached with a funky new clip from SU! I tied a bit of May Arts checkered ribbon to finish it off.

Last card for today is using the set Nature of Friendship.

I rock and rolled the fern stamp with Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive ink. I then used an ink tool to spray some backgound splatters with the Olive marker. It's like the Colour Spritzer tool but it's red, not black. I bought it years ago off The Shopping Channel. I then stamped the sentiment in Memories Black ink. I added a Vanilla panel down the side with two score marks as it looked a bit bare. A black ribbon was tied after it was all mounted to an Old Olive cardstock base. I'm thinking this would be a good "manly" card.

I'd love to know what you think of the new cards! Were they worth the wait? ;) I told you I'd offer up some blog candy for stopping by again so how about this. Leave a comment on this post before 11:59 p.m. Sunday night and I'll randomly select a winner to have Jessica send the new set Blessings to. My treat!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope the rest of your day, and weekend, is great!

Congrats wildbasket! Contact me with your info and I'll pass it on to Jessica :)

I had a chance to play a bit last night and came up with another possible Valentine idea.

I am loving the retro colour combo used often in the new SU! catalogue and it inspired me for this card. I used a combination of three There She Goes sets, Special Delivery for the "For You" sentiment, Branching Out inked with a marker for the "my love" and Let's Get Together for the coffee cup.

There is Crystal Effects on the coffee cup lid to give it a bit of shine. I made sure to stamp the lid in Brown Stazon to minimize the ink running.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We have a busy, hockey filled day today. Hope yours is great!

Supplies:

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Whisper White, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Brown Stazon, Versamark, Chocolate Chip marker
Stamps: Special Delivery, Let's Get Together, Branching Out (There She Goes) Polka Dot background (SU!)
Accessories: Top Note die, dimensionals, ribbon, Crystal Effects

You're a Good Egg...

...just a little cracked!

Seriously. How many people could I give this card to? How about everyone in my family, that I work with, lives in my neighbourhood... lol Someone could even send it to me, I suppose!

For this card I used Summer Sun for the base. I know! Summer Sun! I was as surprised as you when I pulled it out and saw that it worked! I don't often feel the love of the Summer Sun. Anyways, I stamped the egg image from LOL Taglines from There She Goes randomly on the bottom part of the card base with Summer Sun ink. I then stamped the egg image again on Whisper White and the sentiment using Black Stazon. A black mat is adhered to the card base, a ribbon (American Crafts) tied and trimmed, and the sentiment panel adhered to the front using dimensionals. TSG03 again!

For a final touch, I coated the main egg in Crystal Effects to have it stand out more. I love the effect it gives but if I were to do it again, I would stamp it first in craft ink and then emboss in clear. The dye ink runs a bit from the CE but it's not too bad in this case since the ink colour is light.

So that's it! A pretty easy card to recreate for all the good eggs in your life :)

If you came for a February Sneak Peek I have to say sorry! I don't have a preview of the new TSG sets for you today because mine haven't arrived yet so I used an already released set for this card. Being in Canada, stuff always takes a little longer to get to me. But hey, I don't want your visit to be a waste now, so leave a comment on this post no later than this Friday and be entered to win a randomly selected mini set from There She Goes.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope the rest of your day is great.

A card and some blog candy!

First things first. Here's the card.

I used the set Butterfly Happiness from There She Goes. Each of the butterflies is embossed with clear embossing powder. In the pic it's kinda hard to tell. Colours are Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink. Not sure of the source for the ribbon-sorry! Probably Michael's though as I have a lot so I probably bought a roll from there :) White panel is raised on dimensionals. I wanted to try to stamp my main image on something other than white or vanilla.

Now, the fun stuff! Blog candy!

Jessica from There She Goes is offering up two sets for me to give away! Wooooooo hoooooooo! How fun is that??? The sets are limited edition and are a surprise so you'll have to win one to see what it looks like! lol To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. One post per person please! Get your entry in no later than Friday the 3rd of October. I'll pick a number using a random generator or have my kids pick out of a hat or something after that.

Check out these other There She Goes Design team blogs to look for some more chances to win:

Bev
Faith
Holly
Maki

Wendy

And, be sure to check out what's happening at There She Goes. There's some new stuff being released you won't want to miss!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope the rest of your day is great!

And the winner is......

So, I'm up super late tonight trying to finish painting DS's bedroom. OMGoodness I cannot take one more day of my boys sharing a room! They are getting on each other's last nerve which in turn is getting on my last nerve! Doesn't help that it has rained a ton the last few days. Tomorrow we finish the paint, DH and my dad do the floor and Saturday we get the room up and running assembling furniture and stuff. One more night of sleeping in the same room (and I use that term loosely because it seems that none of us are getting much sleep!) . I can't wait to get this house back in order! Anyways, since I was up, I figured I'd see who the winner is!

Okay ladies, one thing I learned from this blog candy experience is this-figure out how to do screen shots BEFORE you enter the random .org info because if you are me, you are likely to navigate away from said random.org screen to try to find how to do the screen shot and then what you wanted to take the shot of is gone! LOL So you all are just going to have to take my word for it when I say that it came up as #8

CC176

This card is for the colour challenge over at SCS this week to use the colours River Rock, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla. I also added a pop of black for the sentiment and then felt it needed something black to balance it out. Originally, I had a soft sky coloured ribbon but once I repaced it with the black, it seemed much more balanced out. I added Frosted lace stickles to the flower centres. The flowers are from SU!'s Bodacious Bouquet set and the sentiment it from PTI's Birthday Basics. Love Papertrey's fonts.

I'm tired today! I was up late working on cards for a card camp I have coming up in August. Inspiration hit late for me last night! And whenI finally did get to bed, my youngest son couldn't sleep, so we switched places. I didn't get much sleep in his bunk unfortunately! LOL

I did promise some blog candy so here it is! Thanks so much to those of you that stop by and read :) I appreciate you and the sweet comments that you leave. What a wonderful hobby stamping is!

If you would like to win it, please post a comment to this post (one per person please) no later than tomorrow night (Thursday). Then, I'll randomly select a number and get this package of goodies that includes the SU! set Friendship Blooms, lengths of 2007-08 SU! In-Colour ribbons, a Verve ribbon package, a package of jewel accents, a container of microbeads and a baggie of assorted Prima flowers off to the lucky winner!

Good luck!

Angela
