SC185

Hi there!

Holy smokes! It's warm today! Just finished taking my boys to swimming lessons. I don't know why I bothered to get my hair straightened yesterday as this heat and the pool are killing it! Bummer. Oh well, back to curly tomorrow.

This card was made for the sketch challenge over at SCS. You can see the layout here.

I started with the decision to use Red Riding Hood Red since I haven't had a chance to yet. Ladybugs were a natural choice to use with red. Other colours are Basic Black and Whisper White. She is also stamped with Palette Noir as are all the details in black on this card. I tried cutting out the ladybug but was having a heck of a time with the antennae. I ended up covering the tips with black jewels that I believe are from Studio K. The Little Lady stamp set is from Papertrey Ink and she is on a dimensional so she can be creeping off the panel.

Originally, I had the celebrate on the right thinking that the ribbon would balance things out. Didn't happen. So to fix it, I tried stamping celebrate three times all along the bottom. Crooked, of course. So then I cut a red panel and took the card a bit apart to slip it over the mistakes and end under the May Arts ribbon (so the red portion below the ribbon is actually two layers-really hard to tell though) and stamped celebrate on the left. I'm much happier with it now. I still feel like it needs a little something, but I don't know what and I'm scared to wreck it! I often so that and after think I should have left well enough alone. So I left it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hope the rest of your day is great.

Angela

I am in the process of printing this post out and keeping it. I had no idea that other women had as much trouble as I do sometimes. I just figured that it always came together "just right" for everyone but me.
