FS73 Mother

Hi all (or the one or two of you who read my blog! LOL)

So, today I made a card for the Featured Stamper Challenge at SCS. Love that challenge! It's my favourite because that's how I really started stamping-CASING the work of others and making a few changes along the way to make it my own (giving credit to the original artist of course!).

The card I chose to CASE was
this one by chelemom. I chose it because after seeing all the beautiful embossed cards from the Inspiration Challenge yesterday, I was in the mood to emboss. I embossed the flowers from SU!'s Easy Elegance (retired) set with clear EP on Glossy White paper. Then, Soft Sky and Certainly Celery ink was sponged over the image. I tried to have one half sky and the other celery and have the two blend in the middle. The rest of the card is pretty simple. I copied chelemom's layout, changing up the ribbon and colours. The mother sentiment is from the SU! set All Holidays. I just inked up the mother part with a Certainly Celery marker. I was pleased at how straight it went on! Very satisfying when that happens and you don't have to get creative covering a mistake. Add some Hero Arts half pearls and the ribbon that I saved from my brother's wedding centerpiece last year and this card is done!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Angela
